Zoo Day

This Saturday we went to the zoo with Ben, Shanda and Harvey Jane!
We checked out the Zoo Atlanta Family Pass from the library and got in for free!  The weather actually turned out to be not so bad.  We were afraid it was going to be a scorcher, but we went early and it actually wasn't too bad.  The zoo is more shaded than you would think.
Laney was pretty quiet (compared to normal) and seemed to really be taking everything in.  Harvey Jane was just as friendly as could be and waved at many of the animals.  Everybody had a great time.  It excites me to think about all of the fun things like this we have ahead of us.  It's so neat to view the world anew through my daughter's eyes.

 Ready to go!

This was the scene most of the time. The girls didn't stay in their strollers for long.

See what I mean?  She's really taking it all in.

Laney is so big now that she wants walk where ever she goes.

Even the statues are cool!

We were impressed by the giraffes and all Laney could say was "ball."

the daddies

bird watching

gorilla watching

Again, the statues are super cool.

Book break!  Laney was almost more intrigued by all of the "books" (the information flip books about the animals) around the zoo than by the animals.

The tiger (I'm pretty sure he's a Clemson tiger) was one of our favorites.  Laney roared at him - we've been practicing what a tiger says for a couple of weeks.  He came really close to us and Kyle was able to get these awesome pics.

Laney's favorite part by FAR was petting the goats in the children's zoo.  She wasn't afraid at all.  We loved watching her with them.  And yes, Kyle now wants goats.

The elephants were the last thing we saw and by that time Harvey Jane was out cold.  Sweet girl!

Bye bye zoo - we had fun!

What a fun day!! I'm so jealous you got to see the tiger. She was inside while we were there. I'm pretty sure she would have been my favorite!!
