At the end of May, Kyle's job required him to go on a business trip.
A business trip to Destin, Florida. He's been on this same trip before. But, for one reason or another I've never been able to go. Every year the GVMA (GA Veterinary Medical Association) hosts a conference at the San Destin Resort. There the veterinarians can meet vendors and take continuing education courses. Kyle's company, Horizon Construction is one of the vendors. You'd be surprised how many vets are looking to build new clinics.
Anyway, this year me and the Laney-Bird got to gooooooo!
And boy did we have a great time!
A big HUGE thank you goes out to Jeff and Steve (the owners of Horizon) not only for allowing us to go along on the trip, but for employing our Daddy and for running such a wonderful, honest company.
So . . . here's a glimpse into our trip:
1st stop: Phil's BBQ in Eufaula, Alabamba. I thought Kyle was kidding when he pulled in. He wasn't. It turned out to be pretty good though.
This was our hotel. Laney has not stopped talking about it. She loved pressing the buttons for the elevator.
The hotel's pool. It was lovely and had a zero entry side, which is perfect for mommies to sit in while their toddlers play.
The grounds at the resort were just immaculate. There were quite a few fountains and Laney loved them all. At first, she called them "mountains."
The flowers were beautiful too, and they were every where.
We loved our little condo too. It was simply perfect. I wouldn't have changed a thing about it. Laney's two favorite things were the phone and Disney Channel. Neither of which we have at home.
The schedule for the trip:
7:00 am : Daddy goes down to the conference center to work
8:00 am : L bird wakes up and we have breakfast, snuggle in the bed and watch Mickey Mouse.
9:30-10:00 : L and I go to the pool or go shopping, window shopping, that is.
12:00 pm: lunch in the room with Daddy (he got done with work around this time each day)
12:30ish: nap time, for all three of us - everyday. Yep, that's what I said. See above pic.
3:00: GO TO THE BEACH and stay till sundown!
~Dinner whenever, wherever~
She's a little beach bum and right here she's dancing- on the beach - to no music :)
See video at the bottom of the page.
The only pic of the three of us I got.
That's how relaxing and laid back this trip was. I never even used my nice camera, just the one on my phone.
Laney really likes to play in the water better than playing in the sand and she was a typical two year old -running IN the waves and running FROM the waves as well as plenty of jumping "like Tigger" in the waves. She also liked to go out into the water. At one point Kyle took her out in the waves (almost too far for this mama's liking) and he threw her up every time a wave would come. They had a ball doing this. We all went out and rode the waves some too.
We had such a fun, relaxing time. It was our first vacation with just the three of us.
I really didn't want to come home!
Thanks for going to work so we could have fun Daddio!
I will leave you with a few of the videos we took on the trip.
playing in the waves
dancing on the beach and "I fell in the wave"
