4th of July 2012

We had a fabulous fourth of July this year.  It was everything summery and American.  We started our day at the steam engine parade in Cumming.   It's like no other parade around and a unique tradition for Forsyth County.  Kids love it and so do their daddies ;)

You better bring your earplugs - the steam engines are loud!!!

Laney called them trains . . . and I can see why.  They are sort of like a train with no tracks.

"Look it's Thomas!"  She thought this one looked like Thomas.

They had tractors and your typical parade entries as well.

Nonna and Pa came too.  Pa had his own "ear plugs."

She got her face painted, which was a big hit!

After the parade, we went home took a nap and then we went to Mimi and G's for a cook out!
Our sweet friends, the Hughes family, came too!

Laney was so glad that Calla could come - they absolutely had a ball together.

Calla, Laney and Cole getting ready to EAT!
After supper we headed over to Roswell to watch the fireworks and play with sparklers.

These girls had a blast.   They were in their glory, yelling, squealing and running around being little girls.

They were yelling out each color they saw.

Enjoying the show.

Thanks to Karyn for the awesome firework pics :)
It was such a fun-filled day.
I'm thankful for summer, friends, family, little girls and for our nation- may God continue to bless it.
Happy Birthday America!
