Our sweet girl is two and a half now. She is such an amazing blessing from God. Not a day goes by that Kyle and I aren't amazed at how fast she is growing and how much love and fun she brings to our family. As always, I wanted to do a post to help us remember just who she was at this point- two and a half. Last night we made a video of her. I LOVE to hear her talk (her voice is so sweet) and I LOVE to hear the ideas that come out of her smart little brain. It is long, but I'm sure we will treasure it in a few years.
Here it is . . . an interview with Laney.
I also wanted to document some of the funny and cute things she has said and done over the last few months.
- She has started naming her stuffed animals all by herself. We have "Roodle" the monkey, "Gilbert" the dog, "Woo Woo" the sock monkey, "Lucy" the ladybug, "Fred" the imaginary friendly monster that lives in our back yard, and "Shoo" the imaginary bunny that hops into her hands from nowhere.
- When the toe nail polish started coming of her toes this summer she came to me and said "Mama, mama my toes are broken!" She loves having her nails painted.
- Sitting in the back yard with her daddy the other day she saw and plane and said "I wish I was a plane so I could fly."
- She likes to play restaurant, kitchen, have picnics with her babies, and pretends to be a ballerina constantly.
- One day she said to Kyle (while he was wearing shorts) "Daddy you are big and you are furry. You have fur on your legs." I laughed out loud with this one :)
- She continues to love "reading" we got to the library every two weeks and pick out books.
- She's still doing great with potty training. The only thing that messes her up is the play ground at church is just a little too exciting and so is going to Harvey Jane's house :)
- When she wakes up from naps or in the morning she comes out of her room finds me and says "Mom, I waked up!" Or "Mom, it's my wake up time."
- A few weeks back Kyle had left his truck for me to drive and I told Laney that we were going to run to the store in daddy's truck and she said "We have to wait for daddy then" I told her that I was going to drive the truck and she said "but you're not a boy mama!" I guess girls aren't allowed to drive trucks ;)
- She has discovered the Disney Princesses and she is quite into it. Cinderella is her favorite right now.
- She is doing better with her eating and seems to be less picky. She still likes for me to feed her though.
- She loves to help cook and hops up on the counter almost every night to help with supper. She also puts the soap in the dishwasher and hits the start button every time for me - such a great helper!
- She has very clear speech and doesn't mess up that many words, so we hold on tightly to the one's she does mess up-it's just so cute. She saids "ca because" for because and "ta-tend" for pretent.
- She has really started enjoying going to the playground. It has sort of become our little family Friday night tradition to go to a playground (either "the blue one that she went to with Harvey Jane" or "the green one with the bouncy fire truck and school bus") and then grabbing some ice cream afterwards.
Two and half is such a fun age, but then again I think I have said that about every age ;)
Thanks for reading, I'm sure the 3 year post will be here before I know it.
